World Heart Day celebrations at Rungta College of Dental Sciences and Research

“WORLD HEART DAY” is a global event celebrated  world  widely on 29th September each year. On this occasion, Rungta College of Dental Sciences and Research, under the aegis of Sanjay Rungta Group of Institutions in association with the Indian Society of Periodontology, organized an exclusive program. Cardiovascular disease is one of the most common causes of death globally, this day is commemorated for increasing awareness among the population about the importance of a healthy heart. A general health check-up was conducted in the Department of Periodontology in which patients’ Blood pressure, Pulse rate and Temperature were measured and later toothpaste samples were distributed for maintaining Dental Hygiene. Around 100 patients participated actively in this program. Patients were educated about the link between oral health and cardiovascular diseases and were made aware of maintaining good oral hygiene for preventing cardiac diseases. Also, a speech competition was conducted among the college students in which Miss Kanu Pandey, Miss Aastha and Mr. Vatsala Singh were rewarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively. The event was convened by Dr. Karthik Krishna M, Dean, Professor and HOD, Department of Periodontology and organised by Dr. Sonika Bodhi, Reader and Dr. Pushpendra Singh, Senior Lecturer. Hon’ble Chairman Shri. Sanjay Rungta, and Director Shri. Saket Rungta, Sanjay Rungta Group of Institutions, appreciated and congratulated the staff and students for the successful conduction of the program.
